Hooters Singapore has confirmed its final outlet at Clarke Quay will close on January 31, 2026. This move signals the brand’s total exit from the local dining scene. After 30 years, the iconic American chain is ending its long run.
The Clarke Quay restaurant first launched in 1996 as the brand’s first international franchise outside North America. For three decades, it remained a popular spot for chicken wings and riverfront views. Its departure marks a major shift for the historic district.
Management cited a tough F&B industry climate for the shutdown. Factors including severe manpower shortages and declining sales made the business model unsustainable. Despite keeping prices low for local diners, the restaurant could no longer justify staying open in Singapore.
The local closure follows news of the US parent company filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. These global financial troubles have hurt the brand’s stability worldwide. Singapore’s competitive food scene and rising operational costs added further pressure on the aging franchise.
While the brand is leaving, the team is planning a new bistro concept. Current staff will likely move to this new venture at a different location. Fans have until the end of January to visit the original Clarke Quay landmark.
