Lost Chow Chow Kiko Spotted on CTE in Singapore: Owner Offers S$1,000 Reward for Safe Return

Lost male Chow Chow dog notice

A five-year-old male Chow Chow named Kiko has been reported missing in Singapore after escaping from a pet boarder. The search for the lost dog intensified after he was sighted walking dangerously on the Central Expressway (CTE), prompting his owner to appeal for public help and offer a substantial S$1,000 reward for his safe return.

Kiko Escapes and Causes Concern on CTE

Kiko went missing on Sunday afternoon (7 Dec) between 2 pm and 3 pm, having escaped from a pet boarding facility. His owner, Matthew, who is currently overseas, was reportedly informed of Kiko’s disappearance only hours later, around 9:30 pm.

The most concerning sighting occurred at approximately 4:30 pm on the same day when Kiko was filmed wandering amid moving vehicles on the CTE northbound, near the Jalan Bahagia/Whampoa Drive exit. A video of the dog, posted online, highlighted the danger to both Kiko and motorists on the busy Singapore expressway.

Reported Sightings in Kim Keat and Bendemeer

Volunteers and the public have reported multiple sightings of Kiko across central Singapore, suggesting he has been running across various estates.

Reported locations and times include:

  • 3:30 pm (Sunday): Near Block 194 Kim Keat Avenue.
  • 4:31 pm (Sunday): Running against the flow of traffic at the Braddell Road exit.
  • 6:46 pm (Sunday): Running across a road, forcing cars to stop.
  • 7:30 am (Monday): Reportedly seen under the steps of a bin centre near Block 44 Bendemeer Road (unconfirmed).

The owner has stated that the Expressway Monitoring and Advisory System (EMAS) and Traffic Police have been alerted, alongside official reports lodged with the police, the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS), and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

Urgent Appeal and S$1,000 Reward for Lost Dog

Matthew is offering a S$1,000 reward for any information that leads directly to Kiko’s safe location and return.

While Kiko is described as friendly and not prone to biting, he is shy with humans and may run away if chased. The public is advised to approach him cautiously if spotted.
