Police are actively searching for a 32-year-old man believed to be involved in a violent assault where he allegedly attacked several Boon Lay residents while wielding three knives. The incident reportedly began around 6:55 PM when a group of neighbours were gathered at the first-floor void deck, singing karaoke and socializing. According to eyewitness accounts, the confrontation may have stemmed from a prior staring incident involving the suspect.
The man, accompanied by a woman, allegedly returned to the scene shortly after the initial confrontation. He was reportedly holding multiple weapons: two knives in his left hand and a chopper in his right. He began shouting at the group before suddenly swinging a weapon at a resident.
A 58-year-old man suffered injuries to his arm and back, including a stab wound. He reportedly attempted to defend himself using a plastic chair during the terrifying ordeal. The injured resident was conveyed conscious to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital for medical attention.
Police Seize Weapons, Manhunt Underway
Upon receiving multiple calls for assistance, SPF officers arrived at the scene. When the assailant realized the police had been contacted, he dropped the weapons and immediately fled the area, running towards Block 238 Boon Lay Drive before disappearing.
The police seized the three weapons from the scene: the two knives and a chopper.
