Changi Airport’s upcoming Terminal 5 (T5) is taking centre stage with a new immersive exhibition, T5 In the Making, which opens to the public on Tuesday, January 6. The free exhibition, located at Terminal 3’s Arrival Hall, will run until March and offers visitors a glimpse into the airport’s future design, innovations, and technologies.

The exhibition was officially launched on Monday by Acting Minister for Transport, Jeffrey Siow. It is a joint effort between the Ministry of Transport (MOT), the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and the Changi Airport Group (CAG). The exhibition is divided into five interactive zones, taking visitors through Changi Airport’s history and its vision for the future.
“Visitors will witness the technologies being explored to address manpower, ageing population and climate change challenges, and conclude their visit by imagining the future with interactive artificial intelligence (AI) experiences and viewing detailed scale models of T5 and the larger Changi East development,” said MOT, CAAS, and CAG in a joint media release.
How to Visit
Visitors can register for a slot on the airport’s website on a first-come, first-served basis, with each booking accommodating up to five people. Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance; walk-ins are welcome, subject to available capacity. The exhibition runs daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the last entry at 7.15 p.m., and is expected to take about 60 minutes to complete.
Since registration opened on December 15, around 15,000 visitors have already booked tickets. Ticket holders also enjoy exclusive shopping and dining offers at Changi Airport, as well as deals from iShopChangi, Changi Experience Studio, Gift by Changi Airport, Changi Travel Services, and other participating outlets.
A Glimpse into Terminal 5
Terminal 5’s groundbreaking ceremony was held in May, and it is scheduled for completion in the mid-2030s. Once operational, T5 will increase Changi Airport’s capacity by approximately 50 million passengers annually. The terminal will feature a dedicated ground transportation centre that integrates train, bus, taxi, and other transport services in one location.
CAG confirmed last week that major tunnelling works linking Terminals 2 and 5 for passenger and baggage movement have been completed, marking a significant step toward the terminal’s future operations.
Visitors to the T5 In the Making exhibition can explore detailed scale models, learn about upcoming technologies, and imagine how Changi Airport is evolving to meet future travel demands.
