In the early hours of Tuesday, January 20, a Go-Ahead Singapore bus mistakenly entered a private estate in Loyang. CCTV footage shared by @sgfollowsall on Instagram showed the bus moving along the narrow road and hitting several parked vehicles. The video, taken from a house in the estate, was time-stamped 4:56 a.m.
The bus could be seen shaking from side to side as it turned, seemingly after hitting objects along the way. One van parked on the roadside appeared to have been dragged away by the bus.

Incident Linked to Temporary Road Closure
Go-Ahead Singapore confirmed in a Facebook post that the bus was involved in a traffic incident along Loyang Rise that morning. The bus captain had made the wrong turn because Loyang Avenue, towards Tampines Avenue 7, was temporarily closed.
The bus grazed several vehicles parked along the roadside during this incorrect turn.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) said it received reports of the hit-and-run at about 5:05 a.m. The accident involved a bus and three cars. No injuries were reported.
A 70-year-old male bus driver is currently assisting police with the ongoing investigation.
Go-Ahead Apologises and Takes Action
Go-Ahead Singapore issued an apology, saying it was “deeply sorry” for the distress, inconvenience, and damage caused. They also stated, “We take full responsibility for this incident.”
The company has sent teams to visit affected residents and asked those who could not be reached to contact customer service at 6812 6469 or email enquiries@go-aheadsingapore.com.
Go-Ahead is also conducting a safety time-out with all bus captains to reinforce adherence to procedures.
MP Supports Residents
Valerie Lee, Member of Parliament for Pasir Ris-Changi GRC, visited the estate and spoke with residents. She praised them for their calm response and confirmed that Go-Ahead and relevant agencies are assisting the affected residents. She said her team will continue to monitor the situation and support the community.
