Home-grown Mandopop singer JJ Lin has broken his silence following intense public attention after he confirmed his relationship with Chinese influencer Annalisa.
The 44-year-old surprised fans on Dec 29 when he shared a photo on social media showing himself with Annalisa and his parents during a family celebration for his mother’s 70th birthday. Annalisa, also known as Qiqi, has been reported by various media outlets to be either 23 or 24 years old. The post marked a major personal moment for Lin, as it was the first time in his 22-year music career that he publicly acknowledged a partner.

Just two days later, on Dec 31, Lin posted a reflective message on social media looking back at his year. While much of the post focused on the end of his three-year world concert tour, it was widely seen as his response to the scrutiny surrounding his personal life.
“Beyond the music and milestones, 2025 also brought many tests – moments of heartbreak, helplessness, and growth,” Lin wrote in both English and Chinese. He added, “My life beyond the stage and music was intrusively scrutinised and deliberately misrepresented.”
Lin explained that he had stayed quiet while his team worked behind the scenes. “I had remained reticent while my team worked on verifying some incidents, which turned out to be premeditated and coordinated smear campaigns,” he wrote. According to him, “False narratives were spread, and lines were crossed, causing harm to my loved ones and myself, including my fans, who stood by me.”
He shared that the situation made it difficult for him to update friends and fans about his life openly. Lin said it was unfortunate that he could not share freely due to the chaos surrounding the online discussions. Despite this, he expressed gratitude for gaining clarity. He addressed those who support him, saying, “When faced with emotionally charged narratives online that seek to provoke and divide, please remain clear-minded.”
“There is no need to stay trapped in stories written by others. We can choose to move forward,” he added.
Lin also wrote words meant for himself and others facing struggles, saying, “May we never forget how we got here, and be gentle and kind. May we all learn to step away from meaningless online exhaustion, and protect the calm and steadiness of our hearts.” He further added, “Place your energy where it truly matters. Take good care of yourself. Live each day well.”
In the same post, Lin reflected on his world tour, which began in Singapore in November 2022 and ended in Beijing in July 2025. “From JJ20 to JJ20 Final Lap, these three years of world touring have felt like a long, profound journey,” he wrote.
“It began with a simple intention – to mark my 20th anniversary through the stage, together with my fans.” He shared that the tour spanned 104 shows and concluded over nine nights at Beijing’s Bird’s Nest. “To stand on the biggest stage of my life, walking side by side with the best of you – my fans, my comrades, my kindred spirits – this dream was fulfilled by all of us, together. For that, I am deeply grateful.”
