From January 20, eligible lower-income households can apply for public transport vouchers (PTVs) worth S$60 to help manage commuting costs throughout the year. Senior Minister of State for Transport Murali Pillai said in an Instagram post that the vouchers will be available to households with a monthly income per person of not more than S$1,800.
Two-Phase Distribution
The 2025 PTV exercise is being carried out in two stages, the Ministry of Transport and the People’s Association said. The first phase, in December 2025, involved sending notification letters to around 300,000 households that had received vouchers in the previous year and continued to meet the income criteria. These households were guided on how to redeem their vouchers.
The second stage starts on January 20 and runs until October 31. Households that meet the eligibility criteria but did not receive a notification letter can apply online or in person at their local community centres or clubs. The exercise also allows applications from households that require additional assistance, including those whose incomes did not meet the eligibility criteria.
How to Redeem
Households that have received notification letters can redeem their vouchers through the SimplyGo app or at various SimplyGo service points, including kiosks, top-up kiosks, assisted service kiosks, ticket offices, and ticketing service centres. The vouchers issued for the 2025 exercise will remain valid until March 31, 2027.
