Itacho Sushi, the Japanese restaurant chain known for its handmade sushi, has permanently closed all of its outlets in Singapore after more than 16 years of operations. The brand first arrived in Singapore in July 2009 and celebrated its 16th anniversary in July 2025.
Social Media and App Deactivated
A check on social media shows that Itacho Sushi Singapore’s Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts have all been taken down. Its mobile app is no longer available on the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store, and the official website at www.itachosushi.com.sg is now inactive.
Locations Closed
Archived versions of the website from 12 November 2025 listed four Singapore locations:
- Ion Orchard
- Novena Square 2
- The Star Vista
- Bugis Junction
All four locations are now permanently closed, according to Google Maps. Previously, the brand also operated outlets in Tampines Mall, Bedok Mall, and a takeaway outlet at Bishan MRT station, all of which had closed earlier.
Company Status
The Singapore operations were managed by Itacho BM Pte. Ltd., with registration number 201224224K. A notice in the Government Gazette dated 13 February stated the company is set to be struck off the Register of Companies unless a reason is shown within 60 days. The Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) records show the last annual return was filed on 3 July 2025, and the last financial statement on 31 December 2024.
About Itacho Sushi
According to the now-defunct website, Itacho Sushi was a subsidiary of Taste of Japan Group, which was founded in Hong Kong in 2004. Besides sushi, the outlets also served other Japanese favourites such as rice bowls.
