Singapore ride-hailing platform TADA will roll out updates to its cancellation and cleaning fee policies on March 18, aiming to better support drivers on the ground.
Revised Cancellation Fee
From 12pm on March 18, drivers will receive S$3 for rides cancelled by passengers after the driver has been travelling for at least three minutes and is within about 500 meters of the pick-up point.
Previously, drivers only received this S$3 compensation when passengers cancelled or did not show up after the driver had already reached the pick-up location.
In a Facebook post on March 11, the National Private Hire Vehicles Association (NPHVA) said that this change is a “positive step” towards recognising drivers’ effort when they travel to pick up passengers only for the ride to be cancelled before arrival.
Increased Cleaning Fee Compensation
Tada will also raise the maximum cleaning fee compensation to S$150 for drivers.
According to NPHVA, this adjustment “better reflects” prevailing market rates and ensures drivers receive more appropriate compensation when their vehicles need cleaning due to passenger incidents.
Feedback and Ongoing Engagement
These updates came after discussions between NPHVA and Tada management, where the association shared feedback from drivers about working conditions and challenges faced on the road.
